Another Act of Kindness promotes education of our future nurses by providing scholarships to these students. AAK has awarded over $4,500 in scholarships to local students. AAK plans to increase the number of scholarships given every year.

Another Act of Kindness provides cafe gift cards to family members of intensive care unit patients of local hospitals. Code Lavender comfort items and snacks are also provided for the staff. Donations of these items are accepted and greatly appreciated.

Another Act of Kindness is providing partially grant funded retreats for nurses and other front-line workers for self-care. These retreats help to combat and cope with compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and burnout which will improve job satisfaction, nurse retention, and overall better mental health.

Another Act of Kindness will award a $500 grant in the fall to a staff member of a local school. The grant is to be used for a project to promote and encourage students to be kind as well as spread kindness in their community. The grant will be awarded on November 1, 2016.
